The finer points

Who can enter competitions?

Once a member, you can enter images into the club competitions.

What do I need to know to enter images?

Images entered into all sections must have been taken by the submitting photographer and must not be a reproduction of other people's work. This includes the use of models and props to recreate a copy of someone else's composition or idea. If other people's work is included as part of an image it must be clear from the image that it is included as a needed part of the overall composition and not as the subject. (i.e.  Artwork as part of an overall gallery view or street art as part of an urban theme) .  The copyright of the entered image must be owned by the photographer. The legal consequences of copyright must be considered prior to including others work as part of your image where unavoidable.

If composite images are created then ALL component elements of the final image must have been taken/created by the submitting photographer. Use of downloaded stock images, royalty free images, and clip art are not permitted.

What size do my images need to be?

Image prints entered into all internal competitions have to comply with the following dimensions.  The maximum printed image size must be no larger than 40cm X 30cm (16"  x  12").  The maximum mount size must not exceed 50cm  x  40cm (20"  x  16").

Most External Print competitions insist on a mount size of 40cm x 50cm.

Our Projected image competition entries must be sized to the following format. 1200 max pixel height x 1920 max pixel wide, with the colour space set to sRGB.

How do i identify my images for entry?

The identification of a projected image (i.e. THE FILE NAME) should be in the following format.

'IMAGE TITLE_members name_pds'  or pdo .   This is IMPORTANT because the filename format drives the software we use to compile the competition. Each element has a purpose in its required position.

PLEASE ALWAYS ENSURE THE FORMAT IS CORRECT
